Reina (麗奈) is the biological mother of Kurei, as well as the concubine of Oka.
Appearance[]
Reina was sometimes seen, like Kagero, wearing a kunoichi uniform, as well as a pale blue kimono. In the anime, her black hair was short, with longer strands on either side, but in the anime, she had long hair, tied back into a ponytail.
Personality[]
Reina is fiercely loyal to Oka, as well as devoted to her son Kurei. While not exactly friends with Kagero, she was willing to team up with her in order to kill enemies of Oka. In the anime, her personality was quite different, almost to the point of her being demonized. Reina in the anime had a clear and obvious hatred for Kagero and her son, instead of their unfriendly rivalry in the manga. Despite the harsh treatment she recieved by the elders of the Hokage clan, she remained loyal to the end, and passed on her will to Kurei as she died, and she clearly loved her son as she tearfully begged for his life to be spared when the elders considered executing him.
Part in the Story[]
She was another wife of Ohka and mother to his 4-year-old son, Kurei.
Reina gave Kagero a present - a bundle of human skulls. Seeing this, Ohka ordered her to leave but the angered Reina told Kagero that Kurei was destined to be the next Hokage leader because he possessed the power of the flame. Her son, Recca would be just a shield for Kurei. A few days later, on a full moon, Ohka heard from his family members that Reina had become arrogant and was a pain in the neck for everyone and Ohka apologized for being an irresponsible leader and husband.
As time passes, Reina became severely ill and Kurei was often bullied by the villagers. Desperate and heartbroken, Reina wishes Recca dead.
Abilities[]
In Oka's flashback, Reina was seen using Kuchibashi-Ō and Shinryo Shintō.
Etymology[]
- The name Reina means "beautiful, lovely" (麗) (rei) and "apple tree" (奈) (na).
